Privacy policy

Local Wahroonga Plumber is a trading name of Lime Plumbing and Drains. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we give it to and what you can do about it. We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to quote and carry out plumbing work for you. That is usually:

  • Your name, phone number and email address.
  • The address or suburb where the work is needed.
  • What has gone wrong and how soon you need someone.
  • Notes a plumber makes about the job, and photographs of the work where they help explain it.
  • Payment details, which are processed by our payment provider and are not stored by us.

When you call a number on this website the call is routed through a call tracking service, WildJar. That service records the number you called from, the time of the call, the page and the advertisement that number appeared on, and it may record the call itself for quality and training. If you do not want a call recorded, tell the person who answers and we will stop it.

Website analytics and advertising

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages lead to a call or an enquiry. It sets cookies in your browser and records your approximate location, your device and the pages you look at. We use Google Ads and Meta advertising to show our ads to people who have visited this site. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

You can turn cookies off in your browser settings. The site still works without them, but we will not be able to tell which advertisement brought you here.

Why we collect it

  • To give you a price and to do the work you asked for.
  • To contact you about a booking, a quote, or a job we have done.
  • To meet our record keeping obligations as a licensed plumbing business in New South Wales.
  • To improve the service, and to work out which of our advertising is worth paying for.

Who we share it with

We share your details only with the people who need them to get the job done: the plumber attending, a supplier ordering a part for your job, our payment provider, our booking and call tracking software, and our accountants. Where the law requires us to disclose information, for example to a regulator or under a court order, we will.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information to a standard consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How long we keep it

We keep job records for as long as we are required to, and no longer than we need to. If you ask us to delete your details and we are not required to keep them, we will.

Getting at your information, and complaints

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time, and within 30 days wherever we can. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to us first, and then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
